Nov 5th 'Good news'?

So I was so anxious to know how my mother was doing in her 'new home' (temporary).

I called the rehab center and spoke to my mother's PT (physical therapist).

The therapist said that b/c of her R side still being somewhat paralzyed (flaccid) that she will need to THINK ABOUT what she wants to do FIRST.

This will start making connections with her neurons (nerves) in her brain that will eventually tell her muscles to carry out the "ORDERS"! :)

The therapist said that two positive points were that my mother follows directions very well and that she seems very determined/motivated to follow through with therapy.

Finally, the therapist said that the first 6 months seems to be the best time to recover any movement or abilities from the type of procedure that my mother had.

I LOVE YOU MOM!

Nov 5th 'The next step'

I talked to my aunt Betty last night.

My mother has now transitioned into the next step to completing her COMEBACK!

Bradenton Health Care is now Carole's 'temporary home'!

She will be having physical therapy at least 3 times a day (speech, physical and occupational).

When I visit my mother and aunt again in 15 days, we hopefully will get to meet with Dr. Boyer!

All I can say is that from all reports from my aunt, my mother is ready to ROCK AND ROLL this therapy thing!!!!!!!

I LOVE YOU MOM, see you in 15 DAYS!!!!!!
